Do You Know Any of the Kids Who Won in the 2013 Kids
Fishing Tournament Which was Held On Father’s Day?
Rep. Joe Sosnowski, our
Illinois representative from the 69th District, will be attending
the Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, August 20th for the sole purpose of presenting
the tournament winners with a certificate from the Illinois House of
Representatives for their effort, dedication and hard work.
Each of the winners, who were pictured in the July CWL newspaper, and
their families is invited and encouraged to attend this meeting, which begins
at 6:30pm, to meet their representative and be recognized.
It is not often that a politician
takes notice of something as seemingly mundane as a kids fishing tournament and
then takes initiative to recognize these same children. It is less often that
the youth of America get to see our government do something so positive without
being asked. It is the hope this small act remains in the memory of these
children for many years to come and that they enjoyed a morning of fishing with
their father, grandfather or uncle. Many times it is the small things in life
which bring the most memorable rewards and this appears to be one of those
times.
We are experiencing difficulty in locating some of these children as all
we have are names and ages, but no parent/guardian names, contact numbers or
addresses. There were 12 winners of most fish, smallest fish and largest fish
in various age categories as well as 3 winners of the most unusual catches of
the day.
