Kind of a different world

If you look closely you will see a rusted out car in the brush. This is one of the ways the southern boys used to dispose of old cars in Southwestern Iowa. Either drive them down by the railroad tracks and leave them or just pick a place on the farm for them to park and rust away.

Another car abandoned in the ditch by the tracks. These cars are really old. I can't guess the years.

Then there is this. Belvidere was $3.69 when we left the 24th. Notice super is cheaper than regular, which is the norm there. The lowest price I noticed was $3.27 per gallon.

This is probably where I would have ended up if we hadn't moved to Rockford. Benton is a small town of probably 25 people close to my home town. If it like most of the jails there used to be the barred in area is in the rear of the building.

Coming later in the week, pics of our trip over to Council Bluffs. Prepare to be bored! Ken
