Sometimes things just work out

As I have mentioned, our road maintenance program has stalled the last two years due to bids that came in through the roof. We have done a lot of crack filling as I am sure you see. This lengthens the life of the roads and they are not great but acceptable at this point.
As you know, paving is oil based and all of us know what has happened to the price of oil. This could be a real windfall for us. With oil down 40% and our budget for road repair in the neighborhood of $700,000 next year we could get some serious work done. The monies come from reserves so again, no affect on our operating budget. We intend to go out for bids early this year to get a jump on the situation. Good things come to those who wait. (Not sure who said that!)
