Candlewick Lake Public Safety
WEEKLY REPORT
Week Ending 11/17/2014
Rescue Calls
Public Safety responded to one (2) medical calls this past week. Both persons were transported to the hospital.
Wellness Checks
Public Safety responded to several well checks. Family or friends checking on one another. In both cases, everything was fine.
Vehicles in Ditches
Public Safety responded to at least three separate incidents of vehicles driving off the road and ending up in the ditch. These incidents were the result of our first substantial snow on Saturday. In each case, the vehicle had been driving too fast for the condition of the roadway. Thankfully there were no injuries. Please slow down during inclement weather. You may not think this can happen to you, but it could.
Damage to a Mailbox
Public Safety responded to one (1) case of damage to a mailbox. It is suspected the mailbox was run over by a vehicle.
Traffic Incidents
Public Safety responded to the intersection of CWD and Talladega for a hit and run accident. The victim of this incident did suffer an injury, but will be fine. The suspects departed the scene, but later returned. The BCSO had been summoned. Upon the suspects return, they were taken into custody. The BCSO investigation continues.
In another unrelated incident, a vehicle, while backing from a driveway, struck another vehicle which had been parked on the edge of the roadway. Reports were made for insurance purposes.
