Public Safety report and a comment

I can relate to the statement regarding courtesy to fishermen on the lake. Three times yesterday between six thirty and seven thirty power boats came within twenty five feet of our boat as we fished and they were going full speed. One was going about ten feet from the buoys. That boat came by us twice. Dangerous and discourteous to those enjoying a quiet evening fishing from a boat.

Vandalism
Public Safety responded to the 200 blk. of Gables for the report of damage to a garage door, loud noises were heard from the garage area. Observed were holes which could have been made from the claw of a hammer. There are no suspects.
Public Safety took a report of damage to a mailbox in the 100 blk. of Chanticleer.
Juvenile Activity
Public Safety responded to Castaway Park for an investigation of fishing line being tied to a dock. This line had been hazardous to a pet who had ventured onto a dock. There were hooks attached to the line and could also have been an issue for any person(s) walking on the dock.
An investigation was done with several youths admitting to having put up the line. The youths were counseled and their parents informed. The line was promptly taken down.
Criminal Damage to Vehicles
Public Safety responded to a residence located in the 700 blk. of Marquette after 2:00 am in the morning. Unidentified persons were observed smashing the windows of two (2) vehicles located in a driveway. The offenders promptly drove away. It is suspected baseball bats were used. The victim did not desire to summon BCSO.
Later that day, a vehicle drove by the same address making threats to the residents. BCSO was summoned, they learned this incident stemmed from a fight which had occurred in Belvidere the night before.
Two nights later another incident occurred at the same residence with another vehicle having its window smashed. Again the BCSO responded and are still conducting an investigation. There are now suspects involved in this case.
Dog Calls: Barking / Loose
Public Safety responded to eight (8) loose dog call this past week. This is an excessive amount of loose dog calls. Please keep track of your pets, we would not want them hit by a car.
Lake Report
The Public Safety Lake Patrol would like to ask those CWL residents using watercraft to make a better attempt at being courteous to our fishermen. It appeared we had several issues this past week. We appreciate your cooperation.
