I heard a great explanation of how to get a handle on what the cuts in the “sequester” really mean. The commentator took all the extra zeros off the numbers so it would be understandable.
I boils down to $296.00 per month, which is close to many people's grocery bill. The amount that is considered a disaster when the cuts hit amounts to $3.66. In other words it is as if you spend $296 per month on groceries and have to find a way to eliminate $3.66 from the expenditure.
Could you cut a dollar per week from your groceries without it inflicting major suffering on your family? Let the “sequester” come. We probably will not notice the difference no matter how much the politicians scream.
