Officer Tom Dawson

 After the finance commission meeting Monday evening somehow the subject rolled around to "Officer Tom." The name has stuck but now it seems a lot of people have decided he needs a last name and since he likes Dawson Lake Road so well it should be Dawson. Kind of rolls off your tongue, doesn't it. I like it.
  It seems almost everyone at the table had a story about Tom. He stopped Jeff Lutzow when he was jogging. Louann Gostch had to stop traffic since he wouldn't move so he wouldn't get run over, Others have seen him directing traffic and at times making turkey noises at the cars if they stop and roll the windows down. One person mentioned Officer Tom standing under a bush jumping over and over to get to berries above his head.This turned into a several minute discussion about the old fella'. He is now considered a mascot, pet,....... something.
  I'm sure if he could Officer Tom Dawson would wish us all a Happy Thanksgiving and I am sure he would want to mention all the virtues of a ham dinner on Thanksgiving. He is, I am sure, quite thankful he is not being basted as you read this.
  May he have many more healthy, happy Thanksgivings in Candlewick so we can all continue to enjoy his antics.
