Manholes falling or roads rising?

A person would have to be blind not to notice what this winter is doing to our roads. Not so much potholes (yet) but the deep indentations where manholes and culverts are placed. My opinion only, but I think the extremely cold weather is making the roads rise from freezing and the manholes and culverts are staying in place. What will happen when we finally get a thaw is anyone's guess. Things could move back as they were or as the roads fall they could buckle. It is a waiting game at this point.
I am also more than a little concerned about the huge amount of snow that has piled up with no melting. We all remember the disaster with all the rain last spring. What will happen if we get a sudden thaw? I don't want to even think about it if the thaw comes with rain. Keep your fingers crossed. This has been one odd winter.
