Attendance
was low as I expected with a total of 11 attendees.
Open
forum session featured Rich Witt
speaking about a tour on the Witt Trail taking place this coming
Saturday at 11 a.m. to show residents the sights on the trail. He is
hoping some of the younger residents will show up to supplement the
several older folks who have signed up. If you have time this will be
an interesting winter walk.
Paula
Kerpeski spoke asking for the workout area to be a part of the
all inclusive package in the next budget being debated currently in
the finance committee.
During the regular board session Tracy
Carter (GM) announced Lake Summerset has made three trips to
our association viewing the way we run our departments as well as
seeing our new rec center and golf course. They sent us a glowing
review of their experience and may pursue similar projects and
operating protocol. Nice to see we are becoming the standard for
operations.
Jeff
Lutzow reported the finance commission is working with Tracy
on the next fiscal year budget and it is near completion with a few
areas of contention left to iron out. It will be completed soon. Our
total funds are currently at $3,606,917 and we are coming in under
budget this year so far to the good by $78,191 so things are looking
good. We had to write off a total of $2,441 in bad debt and
accounting adjustments. We would like none but this is a recurring
event.
The
board passed a resolution funding the lake remediation planning,
working on future grants, and project development. We have a long
term lake plan taking shape and I am proud we are moving forward on
this.
Steve
Lambright asked Tom Pinkowski Sr.
to report lake management is going to put more structure in the lake
to add to fish habitat. They will be tying oak, maple, and hickory tree branches
together and sinking them weighted with concrete blocks. This will be
great fish cover. Perch will be on a catch and release program the
month of March to allow our recent stocking to take hold. The Crappie
release time has been eliminated due to ample supplies. Plantings are
being investigated for further watershed remediation.
Karl
Steiskal asked for a report from
Michele, our rec manager, regarding the trial lesson for yoga
which brought in 18 participants, zumba 30, and kid's dance 9. This
is a great start and a second season of three on three basketball
will be starting in March so get signed up!
January
31 there will be a presentation on the upcoming alum treatment so be
sure to come with your questions and you will leave with a solid
understanding of the plan. The meeting will be in the rec center.
