The guys have been running the skimmer since it was repaired and you can really see the difference in Fisherman's Cove and the Dip. They are not going close around piers at this point and some smaller less covered bays have not yet been hit. It is important for them to get the most compact areas of the mat off the lake as quickly as possible and the slow process of going in tight to the banks does not make sense until they have caught up.
Another nice thing about this is the algae mat isn't just dying after being sprayed and dropping to the bottom as fertilizer. This stuff is gone from the lake completely. I love it!
I was over at Pierce Lake (Rock Cut) Thursday afternoon and you should see the inlet area of that lake. It is a complete disaster. I would guess the algae mat goes out hundreds of feet bank to bank. I guess we should count our blessings.
