 That is the cost for just the jurors that were summoned for a trial that didn't take place. Thursday I was one of those summoned. We waited for about one and one half hours only to be informed by the judge the witness in the case had taken off to Arkansas and this was the second time it had happened. A warrant has been issued and we could all leave.
 Add to that the cost of the judge, the state paid defense as well as the prosecution, the four employees who waited in the jury room with us (although after the first half hour one left), the bailiff, and Lord knows who else.
 Not much they could do other than not have three employees waiting with us but think of the money this cost and it is paid by the cash strapped Boone County. Sad to say the least.
