A message I am very sorry to write

We have lived here for about 26 years. When we decided to build our home the people who owned the lot next to us did the same. Our homes went up almost together. The couple were Louie and Maudie Rowe. We came to know each other's families and shared a lot of time together out in our yards. We had matching boats and swings. Louie and I had long talks sitting out in the evenings fishing as the sun set. We knew about all there was to know about one another.
I doubt we were in each other's homes more than a couple times during their stay here of many years but that is just the way we both were. Friendship doesn't necessarily mean sharing home visits. They were wonderful neighbors.
After leaving here they lived in Wisconsin for a short time but kept their home here and moved back. Finally they bought a home in Caledonia and sold this one. The home they bought was across from the grain bins that the tornado tore up a couple years ago. They were left pretty much untouched but their son's home on '76 was hit hard in the same tornado.
Some of you probably remember them. Maudie was not as out and about as Louie but she was a real lady. A fine lady. She cared for Louie and her family deeply.
Monday I learned Maudie passed away Labor Day this year leaving Louie alone after many, many years. They had been together from their teens. Such a loss. I thought you might want to know.
Sadly,  Ken
